Inner Demons
This is a song I have written myself regarding a person who is struggling with an internal problem, such as addiction, anger management, depression, or some other issue. It is multipart female vocal music, with accompaniment from piano, strings, drums, synthesizers, and plucked hand-harp. Note: while there are some sound effects at the beginning, no actual argument between real people was recorded, nor were the people actually arguing. It is a made-up conversation.

Gandalf vs. Balrog, Redo
This was done for class. Instructions were (vaguely): take a portion of a movie that contains two different backgrounds, and remove the sound. Then, recreate all the sounds yourself. Backgrounds, SFX, dialogue, footsteps, music, etc. The goal was to learn to create Audio for Video. There were more detailed parameters, but that would fill a whole page. This was the starting point, though.

My music, not my movie
Annabelle trailer
How do you get a video like this one? Step 1: have your teacher ask you to create music only (no dialogue or sound effects) for the trailer s/he selects for you. Step 2: watch the trailer, and discover that it is about a creepy doll that murders people. Step 3: make the decision to break a nursery rhyme, and orchestrate that.
